  • 2-meter repeater: 145.230 MHz (negative offset, 88.5 Hz tone)
    • Supports analog FM and Yaesu System Fusion
  • 70-centimeter repeater: 443.325 MHz (positive offset, 88.5 Hz tone)
    • Supports analog FM
    • Connected to the Central Texas Repeater Link System

These systems are located on a hilltop on the west side of town, providing an expanded coverage area and strong regional signal footprint.

What is a Repeater?

A repeater is a radio system that receives a low-power signal—such as from a mobile or handheld radio—and retransmits it at higher power from an elevated location. This allows operators to communicate over much greater distances than would otherwise be possible.

Community Support & Emergency Communications

Our members support local agencies including Copperas Cove, Coryell County, Bell County, and Fort Hood Emergency Management when requested. This support may include:

  • Staffing amateur radio positions in Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs)
  • Assisting with communications at incident scenes

Many members are trained SKYWARN spotters, contributing to severe weather reporting and public safety.

Training, Activities & Licensing

To maintain and improve their skills, members actively participate in:

  • Amateur radio contests, often called “the ultimate contact sport”
  • Nationwide exercises and events such as ARRL Field Day
  • Operating in real-world and off-grid conditions

We also welcome newcomers to the hobby. Our association provides guidance for those seeking their amateur radio license, and our Volunteer Examiner (VE) team administers Federal Communications Commission exams.
